Workshops
Workshops focus on a fast track approach to provide participants with general strategies that can be used to be better understood by others. The workshops can be designed for individuals with limited English skills to advanced speakers who require reinforcement of skills to enhance communication. The major focus is to select objectives that will benefit all the participants and to do intense training based on the objectives identified by the assessment prior to the program. Workshops are design for groups up to 12. The program utilizes work related vocabulary and industry related communication demands such as participation in meetings and conversation. Half day, full one day or full two day workshops are available.
Program Description
- The consultant will provide the employer with a Needs Assessment Information Form for distribution to participants and their managers before the workshop.
- The trainer will meet with each participant before the workshop to complete an interview that focuses on assessing the communication needs of the participant.
- The group will develop a workshop vocabulary list with industry related words that will benefit all the participants and will be used during the workshop.
- The six hour Workshop is completed in three hour increments with a 30 minute lunch break.
- During the Workshop resources for independent use to further practice skills will also be utilized.
- Each participant will be provided with a Summary at the end of the program that includes a list of follow up strategies that can be used to further improve skills.
